Regions
Currently supported regions include:

  • United Kingdom (UK1 or UK2)

Veeam2Cloud Service Description
Backed up data (Backup Data) is stored at a single datacentre within in the chosen region (Region).

Veeam Backup and Recovery (VBR) software or Veeam Agent (VA) software (Client) is deployed to a suitable system at the End User site (Source Site).

Where the Client is VBR, it is connected to the hypervisor at the Source Site and the Region over a TLS encrypted connection using the supplied credentials.

Where the Client is VA, it is connected to the Region over a TLS encrypted connection using the supplied credentials.

Optionally, at-rest encryption can be enabled on the Client for a Backup Task using a suitable password (Encryption Keys).

Note. The storage and safe keeping of the Encryption Keys are the responsibility of the End User or, where applicable, the Reseller. If the Encryption Keys are lost, data may not be recoverable.

The Client is configured selecting the source data to be backed up and a schedule sets the time and frequency for the backup to be run with a retention policy specifying the length of time Backup Data should be retained (Backup Task) by the End User.

Management of the Client including Backup Sets, schedules and retention policies are performed locally using the Client interface.

Live and historical analytics on the platform’s performance are made available through the My2Cloud Portal and Veeam Service Provider Portal (VSPC).

Veeam2Cloud Disaster Recovery Service Description
Adds Disaster Recovery capabilities for the Backup Data.

The End User as shown in the Veeam2Cloud Disaster Recovery Order Form is provided with a dedicated Recovery Virtual Data centre (Recovery Site) providing the compute storage and networking infrastructure (including a virtual firewall and up to 100Mbps Internet breakout) to run a Recovered VM for both live and test failovers.

Failover Tests in an isolated environment for application and data testing by the End User for all Protected VMs are provided as shown in the Veeam2Cloud Disaster Recovery Order Form subject to the terms in the DR Testing Appendix.

Live failovers can also be requested on demand subject to the terms in the DR Testing Appendix.

Failovers utilise Veeam Instant Recovery technology allowing a Virtual Machine (VM) to be created on demand directly from the Backup Data and converted to a suitable VM format (Recovered VM) and run within the Recovery Site.

For Live failovers the Recovered VM will also be migrated to production grade storage (typically SSD-based) to ensure production performance is provided.

Management of the Recovery Site and any failed over Protected VMs is made available through the Recovery Site management portal.
